Their 4-part harmony and infectious humour has brought them popularity as their repertoire and reputation have grown. Entertaining for pleasure, they raise thousands of pounds for voluntary, charity & community groups. £1200 profit from donations and their first CD was donated to “The Cove” Cancer Centre and further donations have been made to RNLI and Cornwall Blood Bikes (who have received more than £3400 as their current charity). It is situated on the south coast of the County of Cornwall, the area of England protruding into the Atlantic Ocean facing North America. Male voice singing is traditionally very popular in the county, there being 33 federated choirs numbering 1,300 singers out of a total population of nearly half a million.
The choir was formed in 1974 and quickly matured into one of the leading and largest male choirs in Cornwall. It now has over 55 members including several founder members.
The choir gives around 25 concerts each year, raising many thousands of pounds for various charities. On the 10th July 2010 they celebrated their 900th public appearance. During a concert tour of Gibraltar in 1979 they performed in the famous St. Michael's Cave. Subsequent tours have been to Holland/Northern Germany, to the Black Forest area of Germany on two occasions and in 1990 the choir had a 14 day tour as guests of the Niagara Wine and Grape ... less

--- Lyrics (English)
Midnight, Christians, it is the solemn hour,
When God as man descended unto us
To erase the stain of original sin
And to end the wrath of His Father.
The entire world thrills with hope
On this night that gives it a Savior.
People kneel down, wait for your deliverance.
Christmas, Christmas, here is the Redeemer,
Christmas, Christmas, here is the Redeemer! less

Idris was adamant that there should be a male choir in the Blackwood area and so advertised his intent to the local people. His campaign received a good response and led to a meeting being held by the interested parties with the choir being formed in April of the same year. The design of the Choir's badge has changed a little since then with pupils from the local Libanus Primary School (where the choir used to rehearse) entering a competition to design the new badge which is still in use today.
The Choir has travelled widely over the years performing and raising lots of money for charitable causes wherever it goes. It has appeared in concerts at internationally recognised venues such as The Grand Hall at Eton College, The Royal Albert Hall (a... less

It has since grown from a Small choral group to a self-run community choir with a wide ranging repertoire, performing music that bridges cultures and unites faith traditions.
The project won an ABC award in December 2009 at the Royal Society for the Arts and was cited by the judging panel as ”an excellent, innovative way of bringing people together through a shared passion for music”. Koruso! host performances at least twice a year and to date has performed at a variety of venues across its home borough and beyond.
Members come from all walks of life and all across Southwark. We enjoy singing together every Thursday from 6:30pm at Oliver Goldsmiths Primary School, Peckham Road. New members are always welcome - particularly tenors and basses.
