I’m New to singing in choirs. Does that matter?
Absolutely not! VOCALIZE: Blackheath welcomes Singers of all abilities and experiences, and the songs will be taught in a variety of ways to suit each singer.
Is it OK if I can’t read music?
It’s not a problem at all. We anticipate that some people will read music fluently, and some won’t know their a cappella from their ensemble. Our skilled conductors will guide you through the music in a number of different ways, and before you know it, you’ll be s... less

Since 2006, when Gary Weidenaar took the baton, the choir has received invitations to appear at four state & regional conferences:
Meticulous attention is given to performing music of various periods or parts of the world in the style appropriate to that era or culture including adjustments of not only style but tone color also.
Recent clinics with guests Chanticleer and Weston Noble have helped the choir grow and the Choir regularly premiers New works by composers.

This premier female ensemble, were the first choir in the country to venture into the world of international choral music, and have been truly musical ambassadors to Sri Lanka. They are the only choir to record an international album in 2004 when they were asked to record a single for a Tsunami project where Soul Sounds shared the stage with Cliff Richard, Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones, Russell Watson (the famed contemporary tenor), Robin and Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees, Steve Winwood, Boy George, Chicago and others. Since then, this choir has not merely won gold medals at the World Choir Games, but have been the only choir that has had many concert tours on invitation.
