As The premiere chorale ensemble at OSU, The OSU Chamber Choir, under The direction of Dr. Steven Zielke, has garnered national attention and international awards. While touring Eastern Europe in 2001, The Choir received The Grand Prize at The Festival of Light in Bulgaria, and in April 2006, The Chamber Choir was selected as The only collegiate mixed Choir from outside of The state of Utah to perform at The 60th Music Educators National Biennial Conference in Salt Lake City. The Choir has performed in many exciting venues, including a performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in Smetana HAll in Prague and at Strathov Monastery in Prague Castle, The first Choir Allowed to perform in The monastery in decades. This performance is from that session. The oTher pieces were "Sanctus" for a cappella Choir, and "Luminous Night of The Soul", accompanied by The composer at The piano and joined by The Kairos Quartet -- The resident faculty string quartet at CWU. The final piece, "Ubi Caritas II: Through infinite Ages", was recorded both in an unaccompanied rendition (how it is written and published) and in a version with Mr. Gjeilo improvising an accompaniment to The Choir.
