To begin with I wasn't sure, since they seemed somewhat re...  moreOn Christmas Eve morning 2017, I was approached by a member of our congregation who said he had been inspired by the Holy Ghost to write some words and that he would like me to set them to music. To begin with I wasn't sure, since they seemed somewhat repetitive, but as the day progressed to the early afternoon I found that I was also inspired (I even missed lunch!). The piece varies in mode from D Dorian to A Aeolian. The performance is by me (multi-tracking).

The ensemble performs with Jon Washburn and the Vancouver Chamber Choir on three or four concert programmes each season and also presents one or two independent concerts with its own conductor. Pacifica Singers provides an ideal performance venue for experienced and motivated choral singers whose goal is to make music at a very high level. By providing direct exposure to the world of professional music making, it is an experience of great value for singers intending to make a career in music. Current members live throughout the lower mainland, with many serving as conductors, music educators, and/or professional singers in their communities.  less

It started life as The James Ashworth Singers giving its first concert in Thornton Parish Church in April 1976. After some years the base moved to the Unitarian Church near St Luke’s Hospital to be more central for members coming from all parts of Bradford and the surrounding area. In 1979 James Ashworth moved on to projects new and was succeeded by Douglas Robinson who had recently retired as Chorus Master at Covent Garden and who held the post until ill health forced his retirement. During this period the name was changed first to The Ashworth Singers and later to The Bradford Chorale. John Coates took over as Musical Director in 1984 and was followed by Tricia Platts in 1991. Since Tricia’s departure the Chorale has been led by several Musical Directors including Carleton Etherington, Andrew Dibb, Elizabeth Altman, John Griffiths and Christopher Rathbone. Se inician en el canto polifónico postulando primero a la Cor...  moreEl Coro está dirigido por el Maestro Arturo Hernández desde 1992. Ha ofrecido cerca de 400 presentaciones. Lo forman estudiantes de las especialidades que ofrece la Universidad de Piura (Perú). Se inician en el canto polifónico postulando primero a la Coral Universitaria, por donde han pasado cerca de mil jóvenes diferentes en los últimos 15 años. Los más destacados, son admitidos en el Coro, donde se perfeccionan a través de ensayos semanales, bajo la dirección del Maestro Hernández. Normalmente actúan entre 35 y 50 jóvenes, que saben armonizar su tiempo de clases y estudio con los ensayos. Desde 1989 el Coro y la Coral son promovidos por el Dr. Luis Eguiguren Callirgos.
