the South Cape Children's Choir, directed by Jan-Erik Swart, is one of the foremost regional children's choirs in South Africa. In 2010 it won the ATKV Animato Children's Choir Finals and the KKNK "Kanna" prize for best musical production (2013....  morethe South Cape Children's Choir, directed by Jan-Erik Swart, is one of the foremost regional children's choirs in South Africa. In 2010 it won the ATKV Animato Children's Choir Finals and the KKNK "Kanna" prize for best musical production (2013.) During 2014 the SCCC won the "musica Sacra" Open category of the World Choral Games, in Riga (2014) and all categories of the ATKV Animato Finals (2014), being awarded the prize of "Choir of the Competition." It has recorded eight cd's, one dvd; has toured Europe seven times and Talented choristers from several schools in the Garden Route region of South Africa's Western Cape Province are auditioned and rehearse every Friday in the city of George, under the direction of conductor Jan-Erik Swart. they perform a repertoire of up to 50 pieces per year, and perform full-length concerts between 26-33 times per year. the Choir has hosted and sung with many of the foremost choirs in the world, including the World Youth Choir, the Tyge...    less

PG Carnivalesque" under the patronage of Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rector of Gdańsk Tech, attracted several hundred people who listened to daring performances of popular pop music hits. PG Carnivalesque" under the patronage of Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rector of Gdańsk Tech, attracted several hundred people who listened to daring performances of popular pop music hits. During the performance we heard choral arrangements of hits such as: "Dancing Queen", "Memory", "California Dreamin'" and "Maria". This time it was not Mozart or Bach, but ABBA, Queen and songs from the musical West Side Story that graced the walls of the Gdansk University of Technology in carnivalesque musical artistic creations. Jazz musicians performed along with the choir, and the musical effects were accompanied by a unique lighting arrangement, which required appropriate space and audience arrangement. the more-than-hour-long performance by the Academic Choir of the Gdańsk University of Technology, conducted by Prof. Mariusz Mróz and accompanied by musicians from the music Academy in Bydgoszcz, ended with joint singing, encores and a standing ovation.  less

Con los nervios a fl...  more"I dreamed a dream " tomó un significado especial, en el que fue nuestro primer concierto con obras completamente nuevas para el coro. Nuestro sueño no hace falta soñarlo en pasado, lo soñamos cada vez que nos subimos a un escenario. Con los nervios a flor de piel, que se notaron, por los estrenos, desgranamos cada una de las obras, nuevas , frescas, como todo aquello que escribe , compone, o en donde "mete la mano" Sergio Rodríguez , nuestro director. Dejarse llevar por sus gestos, le da otro significado a la palabra "cantar". Muchas gracias al ISTIC ( Instituto Superior de Teología de las Islas Canarias )y a la Universidad de La Laguna por la invitación , a D. Juan Pedro Rivero que nos trató con una amabilidad que no está de moda y por supuesto al público asistente. Cuando cantas y escuchas "bravo" varias veces, piensas que algo estás haciendo bien . A los polifonicxs, muchas gracias, por el esfuerzo, por las horas, por renovarse en cada ensayo y en cada concierto. El camino se empezó hace un año y seguimos....    less
