It has since grown from a small choral group to a self-run community choir with a wide ranging repertoire, performing music that bridges cultures and unites faith traditions.
The project won an ABC award in December 2009 at the Royal Society for the Arts and was cited by the judging panel as ”an excellent, innovative way of bringing people together through a shared passion for music”. Koruso! host performances at least twice a year and to date has performed at a variety of venues across its home borough and beyond.
Members come from all walks of life and all across Southwark. We enjoy singing together every Thursday from 6:30pm at Oliver Goldsmiths Primary School, Peckham Road. New members are always welcome - particularly tenors and basses.

On 16 November 2025 at 7.30 All Saints Church Kingston will become the stage for intensely powerful musical drama as Kingston Choral Society opens their 75th season with a truly remarkable work.
Handel’s Israel in Egypt is one of Handel’s most lavish and dramatic oratorios. Unusually, the soloists’ contributions are secondary as the choir is given the starring role in the turbulent narrative, relating the story of the Biblical plagues, the Israelites’ flight from Egypt via the parting of the Red Sea, and their triumph over the Pharaoh’s army. The plot unfolds in a series of thrilling and startlingly inventive choruses.
It is fitting that KCS should introduce their 75th Anniversary season with a Handel oratorio. The formation of what was originally the Surbiton Oratorio Society was inspired by the desire of the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Kingston to stage a monumental performance of Handel’s Messiah in the borough by bringing together Church and other c... less

(This is a variant of the tune to which Auld Lang Syne is usually sung—the melodic shape is almost identical, the difference lying in the tempo and rhythm.)
It is performed here by the dwsChorale, with a cheeky insertion of a hornpipe!
Gin a body meet a body
Comin' thro' the rye
Gin a body kiss a body
Need a body cry?
Ilka lassie has her laddie
Nane, they say, hae I
Yet a' the lads they smile at me
When comin' thro' the rye.
Gin a body meet a body
Comin' frae the toun
Gin a body greet a body
Need a body froun?
Ilka lassie has her laddie
Nane, they say, hae I
Yet a' the lads they smile at me
When comin' thro' the rye.
Gin a body meet a body,
Comin' frae the well,
Gin a body kiss a body,
Need a body tell?

I dearly lo'e mysel'
But what his name or whaur his hame
