The choir was founded by composer, Franco Prinsloo, with a focus on quality recordings and performances of his own music, as well as a selection of music by other Pretoria based composers. He also conducts the choir. They have recorded two collections of music by composers: Franco Prinsloo, Zander Fick and Pieter Bezuidenhout, “South African Choral Music Collection Vol. 1 and Vol. 2”. The latest album released in 2019 is "Speak to me", available on streaming platforms world wide. In 2019 a new recording will be released: “Naledi - An African Journey” featuring music of the choral musical with the same name. "Naledi: An African Journey" was commissioned by Lhente-Mari Pitout for the University of Pretoria Youth Choir to celebrate and explore the unique and diverse choral music heritage of South Africa.
