Together these w...  moreIn English- Chamber Choir Cantinovum (established in 1989) is the youthful and ambitious choir of the Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences (JAMK) directed by Rita Varonen. Their name originates from the Latin words canti and novum. Together these words become the identity of the choir and mean 'new song'. At present, there are approximately 30 singers in the choir for whom music is a passionate interest – for many it is also a future profession. Many of the singers, either study or work at the Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences or the University of Jyväskylä. The repertoire of Cantinovum is colorful and varied. It spans from folk music to sacred music and from Renaissance to modern composers. It is very characteristic of Cantinovum to perform songs that have been specially composed for them. They have had the honour of premiering more than a dozen compositions both nationally and internationally. The choir forms p...  moreAbout the Choir The University of Pretoria Youth Choir is a multi-cultural choir consisting of 90 members aged between 14 and 19 years and representing 33 Secondary Schools in the greater Tshwane area. They are all amateur singers. The choir forms part of the multi-choir model of the University of Pretoria, the others being the UP Jacaranda Children’s Choir, UP Camerata.

The Concert Choir gives a number of performances in Southern California every year, and has also toured in Canada, Hawaii, Europe, and the United States. The Concert Choir performs a variety of accompanied and unaccompanied repertoire, and collaborates annually with the CSUF University Singers to present performances of choral-orchestral masterworks. They have joined the University Singers in performances with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and the Pacific Symphony Orchestra. For the past four years they have represented CSUF at the Pacific Southwest Intercollegiate Choral Association Festival of Choirs. The choir covers a wide range of repertoire and styles, especially focusing on those that push choral music into new, exciting arenas. The U Chamber Choir performs numerous works by conductor Barlow Bradford, an active composer and arranger, as well as private commissions by other renowned composers. The Chamber Choir often collaborates with other ensembles, both from the School of Music and off campus, including Dr. Bradford’s professional choir, the Utah Chamber Artists. Students in the U Chamber Choir participate in the highest quality choral experience, advancing their vocal technique, knowledge of choral repertoire and musicianship. 指揮：連芳貝 / 鋼琴：陳丹怡 performed by National Taiwan University Chorus conducted by Fang-Pei Tracy Lien from "The Merchant of Venice" by Shakespeare 　　"Tell Me Where is Fancy Bred"選自《威尼斯商人》（The Merchant of Venice）第三幕之第二景。《威尼斯商人》為莎士比亞戲劇中涉及音樂較多的一齣，女主角波西亞（Por...  more指揮：連芳貝 / 鋼琴：陳丹怡 performed by National Taiwan University Chorus conducted by Fang-Pei Tracy Lien from "The Merchant of Venice" by Shakespeare 　　"Tell Me Where is Fancy Bred"選自《威尼斯商人》（The Merchant of Venice）第三幕之第二景。《威尼斯商人》為莎士比亞戲劇中涉及音樂較多的一齣，女主角波西亞（Portia）繼承了父親龐大的遺產，追求者絡繹不絕；波西亞的父親臨終前規定求婚者必須從三個分別由金、銀、鉛製成的箱子中，挑出一個內藏波西亞畫像的，才能與她成婚。 　　這日，輪到波西亞的意中人巴珊尼歐（Bassanio）來求婚了，但礙於家規，波西亞不能向巴珊尼歐吐露箱內實情，心中的焦躁可想而知，便讓家僕哼起這首〈告訴我愛情來自何方〉作為答案的暗示。 　　就歌詞而言，暗示性極為明顯，要巴珊尼歐勿以貌取物，因為美麗的事物總是倏忽而逝。在金、銀、鉛三個箱子中，當然要以鉛箱最為樸實無華了，聰明的巴珊尼歐自然不難領會其中的意味。另一個耐人尋味的地方是在這首小曲中音韻方面的暗示，三行的尾韻分別為bred [εd]、head [εd]、nourished [εd]，這開始的三個尾韻和鉛（lead）一字不謀而合！ 　　曲目一畢，巴珊尼歐毫不猶豫地選擇了鉛箱，人財兩得，抱得美人歸。  less
