Under the direction of John Alexander, the 140-voice Pacific Chorale and its 24-voice professional chamber choir, the John Alexander Singers, present an annual concert season at Segerstrom Center and other area venues, as well as appearing as frequent guest artists with local and visiting orchestras. John Alexander and Pacific Chorale have performed numerous local and world premieres, toured internationally to 27 countries in North and South America, Europe and Asia, and released eleven recordings.  less

After what was thought to be the group's last concert, a push from student fans and current members led the group to seek registration as a bonafide student organization. Pittch Please now provides fraternal solidarity for its members, sentimental commemorations for its Alumni, and musical excellence for the Pittsburgh community.

Stephen Hatfield on Hard Shoulder: Written to honour the House of Compassion, a Toronto outreach to street people, Hard Shoulder is narrated by the street people themselves. Although there is no explicit language, the reality of life on the streets is still presented in an unvarnished way that hits audiences where they didn't expect to be hit. The struggle of the homeless, and of the people who wish to help them, is presented without platitudes, without sentimentality, and without easy answers, but the final message of the piece is humanitarian with a capital H.  less
