We sing music from The early 1900's through to more modern songs such as Billy Joel, The Rat Pack etc. The chorus focuses on improving singing techniques and making chords "ring" while at The same time simply having fun. We love it when a 4 part chord is correctly tuned and The chord just locks togeTher and harmonics (or overtones) ring out loud and strong. We compete every year in local contest as a mean of measuring our progress against similar groups but we just love to perform for The public and so our contest activities are very well balanced with public performance. We also have a great time togeTher as one of our goals is to provide a place where men can gaTher and enjoy Their interest in singing. The Harbour Capital Chorus was formed in Wellington on February 4th, 1988 following pioneering work by The “Co-ordinated Chemists” Quartet for several years prior to that. Its members’ hard work and joint enthusiasm along all These years, under The direction of Antonio Peces, crystallise in The neat blend of The voices and The sensitivity that its interpretations instill. The group provides experience and a consolidated musicality, while exploring every facet of choral music, as well as The singularity of The great masters’ art. Its musical perspective has been very satisfactorily widened thanks to The work carried out under The direction of Konrad von Abel in The last three years, through several intensive meetings and The joint preparati...    less

Artistic Director: Wallis Peterson, Accompanist: Gayle Giese. Today, this spring Is time for walking on The soft earth In sounds that sweeten The air And reach beyond The long dark sleep; For sun to warm The cheek, And quicken breath; A time to shed The griefs That brown The spirit of beginning; To trust The restless energy Demanding space and speak of life, My own, which recreates itself in you.  less
