They are every man in the street but with one thing in common,they love to sing and entertain.The choir is renowned for there entertainment value as well as there singing. No venue is too small or too big.The choir regularly sings for charitable organisations and has over the years raised several thousands of pounds. Musical Director Judith Pinguey prides herself on the varied music the choir sings and has a very progressive outlook on MVC Music and likes to challange the pre concieved image of a male voice choir.  less

We aim to be a "A choir of Note" in New Zealand. As Dunedin’s leading exponent of large-scale choral works, the choir strives for the highest standards in performing the classics of the repertoire, such as Bach’s St Matthew Passion, and Christmas Oratorio, Handel’s Messiah, the Beethoven Ninth and Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius. In addition, the choir has performed major new compositions by New Zealand composers, such as Missa Pacifica by David Hamilton in 2006, and John Drummond’s The Journey Home in 2012. for its 125th anniversary the choir commissioned a new work from Malcolm (Jack) Speirs: Cantico del Sole, and for its 150th anniversary celebrations the choir commissioned a new work from Christopher Marshall: for What Can Be More Beautiful?. The Yorkshire based choir is around 40 members strong and has developed a wide repertoire from classical and folk to swing, jazz and songs from the shows. The choir maintains a busy schedule of concerts and competitions both in Huddersfield and further a field.
