Our name reflects our roots in the telephony and technology sectors as we originally formed as a workplace choir in BT’s Edinburgh offices. We’ve since grown and attracted members from outside of our workplace. Led by Aly Skidmore, our vision from the outset was to build a dynamic performance choir for amateur singers. Under Aly’s musical direction, the choir has developed rapidly and grown significantly in both quality and reputation, receiving wide acclaim. The RingTones have been booked for a wide mix of charity, showcase and corporate events such as the Scottish Rugby Union’s Annual Awards 2015, Eden Festival 2015, the BT Scotland Annual General Meeting, the Scottish Parliament, Sports Relief, the Great Scot Awards 2014. We have also staged our own fundraising performances at venues such as Waverley Train Station, John Lewis Edinburgh and Our Dynamic Earth. Nonetheless, there is a group of youth who have come together to form a choir which has made a mark both at home and abroad. The Winneba Youth Choir, known to be the number one choral music group in the country was founded in May 1989, under the patronage of Mr. George Mensah-Essilfie and Mr. John Francis Arthur-Yamoah (Paa John). The choir has progressed steadily to the extent that it is now recognized as the most outstanding youth choir of the nation. In March 1998 the choir was incorporated and regist¬ered as a non-profit making association, with the objective of providing a platform for the education and development of the youth in Winneba and surrounding towns through the medium of singing. St Stephen’s has a strong musical tradition with two choral services each Sunday throughout the year (except August when the choir has a well deserved break – but usually sing elsewhere for a number of days). Music is sung from across the centuries, ranging from plainsong dating back hundreds of years right through to contemporary works by composers such as John Tavener and Arvo Pärt, including works written especially for us.  less

It has evolved into an ensemble determined to reinvent itself continuously as it develops a sound that is artistically intelligent. In its 14-year history, Novo Concertante Manila has competed and won in several international choral competitions. Among which are the 2nd Choir Olympics in Busan, South Korea(2002), the 1st A Voyage of Songs International Chorale Competition in Genting Highlands, Malaysia (2003) and the 23rd Takarazuka International Chamber Choir Competition in Takarazuka, Japan (2007). In 2009, the choir won the 1st and 2nd Prizes at the 46th Internationaler Chorwettbewerb in Spittalan der Drau, Austria and the 1st Prize at the 55th Certamen International de Habaneras y Polifonia in Torrevieja, Spain. Integrates more than twenty young people between fourteen and eighteen years of age who have, in Music, a common denominator. Intends to continue developing their vocal talent, working a varied repertoire in multiple languages, styles, and four Mixed voices (SATB) a cappella or in collaboration with instrumental ensembles. Has the support of the Instituto Politecnico de Castelo Branco, through the provision of space for rehearsals, on Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas de Castelo Branco (ESART). Fifteen days after its formation, the band was invited to participate in the IX Spring Concert (Covilha), with the theme "East and West", taking place on March 15, 2015. He accepted with great pleasure and it turned out a great way for bringing a greater responsibility to the original project.  less
