While the majority of the singers are undergraduate music majors, membership is open to all students at the ...  moreThe Mansfield University Concert Choir is a highly select ensemble of singers, representing some of the finest talent from the American Northeast. While the majority of the singers are undergraduate music majors, membership is open to all students at the university through an audition process. The group has achieved an impressive reputation of excellence, having been chosen each of the last twenty years to perform at conventions or festivals around the country: the Pennsylvania Music Educators State Conference; the Eastern Division Music Educators National Conference; the Music Educators National Convention; the American Choral Directors Association Pennsylvania State Conference, and the ACDA Eastern Division Convention. The Choir is renowned on the international stage as well, representing the US at competitions and festivals around the world. Featuring a cast of over 44 singers In planning the narrative for this Concert, where possible, we named individual victims to lend identity to the anonymity of the masses. The Concert also reflected on modern conflicts with a special focus on the impact of war on ordinary innocent people -refugees, civilians, children and victims of the growth of modern slavery often associated with conflict. Featuring well loved songs of commemoration, peace, friendship and reconciliation, there was plenty of opportunity to join in, loudly and with meaning - and by being together, singing and making music . 300 plus people were part of what is happening amongst like minded people trying to bring Peace to Planet Earth at this very difficult and troubled time. songs include Robins song Singing out the days The French Prostitute ...    less

Elle est impressionnante. Un résultat et une interprétation de Calliope superbes, mais quel choc: malgré la musique, malgré les voix, malgré le texte, le temps semble être suspendu. Ou plutôt, on le voit passer sans pouvoir ni le maîtriser, ni en profiter. C'est une musique du vide mental, spirituel et même physique. Une musique du néant alors qu'on pressent que tant de choses se passent au-delà. Si c'est cela votre conception de l'enfermement carcéral, je ne veux jamais connaître la prison.
