We exist to educate, to perform and to make friends. We teach Vocal production, harmonization and musicianship to our members, in an atmosphere of fun and camaraderie.

Acalanes High School has a 74 year tradition of choral excelLence. Our program consists of 5 choirs; ChoraLe, Women's EnsembLe, Concert Choir, Bella Voce and Chamber Singers. We also have C.A.P. The styLe of singing is more 'pop' than classical and the choice of music refLects this, with the repertoire including show-tunes, popular songs from the 1930s to today, as well as classic barbershop arrangements. There are strong links to musical theatre in that most songs are choreographed, and performing skills are a key eLement in making a song work. We rehearse every Tuesday, 6:30pm-9:00pm, in central London between Kings Cross and St Paul's. NJCS was chosen to represent New Jersey at the American Choral Directors Association Eastern Division convention in Baltimore in 1984 and again in Philadelphia in 1988. In June 1991, by invitation of the Bishop of Washington, D.C., NJCS performed at the National Cathedral. In December 1998, NJCS was the guest of the Orpheus Club of Philadelphia and performed in their annual Christmas concert at The Academy of Music.
