Since 1993, The Australian Voices have championed an astonishing flourish of new Australian vocal music, having commissioned hundreds of new works. Much of this new music captures vividly The vibrant sound, colour, and energy of The Australian continent and its people. The singers, aged between 17 and 28 come from different Australian cities and commit to a rigorous professional schedule of concerts and workshops, both in Australia and throughout The world. This vocal ensemble has been recognised by many international awards and honours as one of The finest of its type in The world. We are resident at St. MatThew's parish church in Chapel Allerton. We rehearsal three times a month, on a Friday evening and sing four services a month, including Evensong on The first Sunday of every month. We also often host come and sing days and various workshops, our two most recent projects have been on Buxtehude's Membra Jesu Nostri and Mozart's Requiem. Goal of ...  moreThe Youth Choir Melissanthi was founded as The Children’s Choir of Alexandria Municipality in 1987 aiming to The creation of a youth musical cradle in The town and so far has become a major attraction for children and young people of The city. Goal of The choir is equally The choral and music development of its members and The contribution to The cultural development of Alexandria and The surrounding area. Although it started as a small ensemble singing monophonic or at best diphone melodies without instrumental accompaniment, today has more than 80 choristers, mostly girls, 10-25 years old, and interprets as a triphonic choir almost all kinds of music, with an emphasis on The music of The nations and Greek composers.
