In the World Choir Championships which was held in Graz, Austria between 10th-17th July 2011, Boğaziçi Jazz Choir became the 'WORLD CHAMPION' in Contemporary Music and Folklore categories, and got the 'second prize' in Mixed Choirs category. Also winning ...  moreIn the World Choir Championships which was held in Graz, Austria between 10th-17th July 2011, Boğaziçi Jazz Choir became the 'WORLD CHAMPION' in Contemporary Music and Folklore categories, and got the 'second prize' in Mixed Choirs category. Also winning 2 more gold medals in 'Grand Prix of Choral Music' the champions competed in, the choir has come back to Turkey with a total of 5 gold medals. We would like to give special thanks to our main sponsor Finansbank, transportation sponsor Pegasus Airlines and everyone who has supported and given us the opportunity to take great pride in this success. The renowned Tor...  more"Gospel & Jazz: A Family Reunion" is a rare opportunity to pull together two performing groups whose audiences may be different but they are connected by history and by their mutual respect for each other’s contribution to Canadian music. The renowned Toronto Jazz Orchestra (TJO) and the Juno award-winning Toronto Mass Choir (TMC) join together in this historic collaboration. The production will feature this 40-voice Gospel Choir and 18-piece Jazz Orchestra along with special guest vocalists Patricia Shirley, Renee Rowe, Chardon Myers, rapper Terrence Penny, dancer Shawn Byfield and students from the Regent Park School of Music. A night to remember, "Gospel & Jazz: A Family Reunion" will celebrate the many historical and musical connections between these two popular genres. Listen to Eri Yamamoto and Choral Chameleon's Artistic D...  moreIn Fall 2018, New York's Choral Chameleon Chorus collaborated with Jazz pianist and composer Eri Yamamoto, to bring to life 'Goshu Ondo Suite', her new, hour-length piece for choir and Jazz trio. Listen to Eri Yamamoto and Choral Chameleon's Artistic Director Vince Peterson discussing the project, with footage from the November 2018 premiere at the Paul Taylor Dance Company Studios. The event culminated in a dance party encore with audience and choir dancing together! After a simple lesson in the Obon dance from Shiga prefecture in Japan, the audience danced to a reprise of the final movement by the choir and trio. The live performance recording of Goshu Ondo Suite will be released by Aum Fidelity label. Pre-Order from October 1st 2019, release date November 15th 2019.  less
