Combining a rich history of male choir standards with new and unexpected arrangements of contemporary works, this choir delivers beyond expectations. You are as likely to hear a Welsh hymn or folk song as an opera chorus, pop hit, spiritual or contemporary Canadian composition. The Orpheus men are all amateur yet deliver a professional engaging performance from memory. Each performance guarantees an emotional ride through familiar, new, rousing, humorous and classic repertoire. Orpheus annually tours BC to enrich smaller communities with choral entertainment. Alongside classical music sung in Latin, Italian and French, its repertoire highlights the music of Jewish liturgical and folk traditions in a variety of styles and arrangements as well as music from around the world. Songs in Hebrew, Yemenite, Yiddish , Ladino, English and Arabic bring to life the different backgrounds of the Ensemble's members.

Its repertoire includes choral music from the Middle Ages to the 21st century, works by contemporary Greek composers, traditional songs, spirituals, etc. It has given numerous concerts in Greece, Germany, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Norway, Switzerland, Hungary, Cyprus, Turkey, and Serbia. Since 2023, the choir has been organizing annually the “Arta Sacred Music Festival” which takes places in Byzantine churches of Arta. Since November 2021, the choir has been conducted by Antonis Ververis.  less

The choirs perform regularly in major London venues including Royal Albert Hall, and sing with professional orchestras. They also tour extensively, and have performed in US, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Seychelles and across Europe. We welcome visiting choirs and enjoy joining with other youth choirs in concerts. We have a training choir for younger singers, and a choir for boys whose voices have changed.
