Ensemble Laude is a community of women united by a passion for Choral music and The vision of our Artistic Director, Elizabeth MacIsaac. We celebrate The beauty and resilience of women’s vocal traditions through The ages and seek to share this art form through joyful, soulful, and life-enhancing performances that gladden The heart, lift The spirit, and expand The mind. Ensemble Laude began in 1998 with a group of 12 singers focused solely on medieval music. It has since expanded into a vibrant community Choir of over 50 vocalists. Today, our Concerts offer an eclectic repertoire, mostly unaccompanied, encompassing early music, sacred and secular works, and folk and world music. The Choir gives and annual Easter and Christmas performance, an annual Summer Concert and European Tour. Their repertoire ranges from Handel’s Zadok The Priest to Karl Jenkin’s The Armed Man. The Choir has performed in many major venues around in Europe, including St Nicolas Church Prague to St Mark’s Venice, and has sung in many commercial Concerts including premiere of James Brett’s Book of Dreams and performed for The Queen’s arrival at Bushy Park during her Majesty’s Golden Jubilee, where The Choir also deputised for The Opera Babes. The band sings mainly sacral, including orthodox music, but also contemporary and folk. The Choir has rich Concert activity in The country and abroad and with great success has participated in many Choral contests and festivals. The ensemble performed hundreds of Concerts and presented its skills at competitions and festivals in Germany, Spain, Latvia, Lithuania, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary and many oThers. The Choir has recorded a few CDs: "Bogoroditse Devo, Raduisya" from 2008, "Musica Sacra" from 2013, "Canticum Canticorum" from 2017.
