It should be pointed out that both choirs have the same and common origin; most of the members discovered choir music when they were very young and joined a former choir, Orfeón Portuense, founded in 1980. Since late 2013 , the possibility of a fusion of the two choirs arises, motivated by the need of a common goal for both groups to improve, learn, make progress and get thrilled with our love for choral music. During 2014 until our official foundation on November 22nd, 2014 at the Basilica Menor Nuestra Sra, De Los Milagros in Puerto de Santa María; Coral Jardín Menesteo supports training on choir music, organizing and attending the first Choir Music workshop in el Puerto de Santa María facilitated by Basilio Astúlez, who is a music teacher at the Local Music Conseva...    less

A friendly and sociable choir, we number some70 singers drawn mostly from the Barnes, Sheen and Richmond areas. We perform mainly, but not exclusively, classical choral works, including those of local composers such as Howard Goodall and Gustav Holst, and we occasionally commission new works, most recently from Russell Hepplewhite. We perform three concerts each season at local venues and we also sing at local charitable events at Christmas, and at summer fêtes, and we raise funds for local cancer support charity The Mulberry Centre at our Christmas Carol concert. We offer an open Come and Sing day each season and arrange overseas singing tours, our most recent being a trip to Lisbon last autumn.  less

The show is aimed to support, train and bring choirs together in a beautiful setting and where people can learn, develop and thrive. This would inspire people to experience the power of interaction by singing together, unrelated to artistic levels. This approach challenges personality and team spirit likewise.
