His initial claim was also to promote new soloists and serve as a tool for new and established composers specially from the Rias Baixas area. The Choir already has more than sixty performances, both self-managed and scheduled in various cycles or festivals such as Outono Lírico, Vigo Sinfónico, Barcia de Mera Religious Music Series, Nas Ondas, Portico Sonoro, Explurart, Cooltural Cambados and II Festival Groba. In these performances they have interpreted several fundamental works of the choral repertoire in all kind of stages of the four Galician provinces, both a capella and with instrumental accompaniment. Samples of these are Petite Messe Solennelle by G. Rossini (version for two pianos), the Requiem in C minor by L. Cherubini, Music for the funeral of Queen Mary by H. Purcell, Mass in D major by A. Founded in 2003 our Musical journey takes us from Jazz to soul, pop to singer/songwriter. We are not professional singers but each of us has a very Musical background and we use every opportunity to further our Musical horizon, especially in terms of timbre and dynamics. Strong influences are the scandinavian contemporary Choir scene led by Vocal Line, Bobby McFerrin, Take 6 and many more. Enjoy!

Singers are committed to performing Music that is representative of various countries by tapping into the vast potential of cultural diversity in the Washington DC metropolitan and surrounding areas. The Washington International Chorus believes that choral Music is particularly suitable for demonstrating the cultural richness of the world's peoples and communities. Transcending mere language, live choral performance allows audiences to experience the beauty, complexity and distinctiveness of living cultural heritage. At the same time, it serves as a reflection of positive cultural encounters and exchange, in which diverse traditions and languages communicate through art and come together through song.  less
