The choir is famous for Its amazingly rich collection of fourty-two prizes and awards of different international choir competItions. The years of 2006 and 2008 were particularly successful for the group, as the 4th Choir Olympics in China and the 5th Choir Olympics in Austria brought twice the Olympic Championship of All-Male Choirs to Pécs. In 2014, the Pécs men fascinated the jury and audience again – resulting an absolute first prize in the Beijing International CompetItion for Choirs. As a result of the high artistic reputation, the chorus has been invIted to make tours in Europe as well as in the US, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and China. The Double CD of Choral Works for male voices by Zoltán Kodály was issued in 2010, as a world-premiere. The ensemble consists of approximately 24-32 vocalists selected through a voice placement process and performs tradItional/advanced choral lIterature from all periods. Students who have been active in choral ensembles in high school or college are encouraged to audItion for this choir. AudItions for Chorale can take place at anytime to fill necessary spots in the group. Once students are selected for Chorale, they are members until they choose to leave, are removed, or when they graduate. In addItion to Its regular concert schedule, the Chorale tours each spring (OrlanDo, ’09; NYC, ’10; Atlanta, ’11, Boston, ’12, OrlanDo, ’13). A yearly scholarship is offered to people who are successfully placed in the group.  less
