Our purpose is to sing for enjoyment & to share this with the community. We are a non-audition Choir, all we ask of those wishing to join us is that they can sing in tune.  

We are a newly formed ensemble of women's voices from Canterbury in Kent. Our repertoire ranges from classical motet to jazz and female barbershop. We perform on a regular basis across Kent and have on going partnership links with Choirs in the UK and France.

Our performances intentionally address themes highlighting diverse solo and choral voices, new and underrepresented composers, visual and other performing arts, and community partners. Resonance seeks to reflect on the most pressing social issues of our times through performing new Music and sharing many perspectives. As Oregon Arts Watch wrote in June 2019, “they do social justice Music justice: their concerts are part social commentary, part group therapy, and part best damn Choir show in town.” Our concerts are designed to reflect the times, and audience members often tell us that they see their experiences reflected in our thought-provoking performances.  less

In an effort to continue the legacy of our master, his posthumous work is continuing the effort and commitment to provide excellence in interpretation polyphonic a cappella and to disclose the Colombian folklore where necessary. On its first attempt at competitions in 2007, the group won Second Runner-Up in the prestigious PAGCOR Chorale Festival and was chosen as one of the top five winners in the Paskong Himig sa Lungsod ng PASIG Chorale Competition. In December 2007, the Ars Cantica Ensemble was featured at the Opening Ceremonies of the Amazing European Union Christmas held at The Podium, Ortigas and was one of the Choirs invited to grace the Sing for Me Project of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. In February 2010, Ars Cantica Ensemble emerged as one of the winners in Sa ‘Yo Lamang Chorale Fest, a choral competition sponsored by ABS-CBN and Star Records.
