The mission of Nashville Singers is to entertain, educate, unite and uplift their audiences and members through music that is distinguished for its innovation, diversity and artistic excellence. Their philanthropic mission of Nashville Singers is to provide funding and support for music education in our schools and the community. The singers are all volunteers, range in age from teenagers to retirees and travel from five different counties throughout Middle Tennessee to be a part of the chorus. By the end of their sophomore year, Nashville Singers had learned 24 songs, released their first CD, performed for 15 organizations across Middle Tennessee, and produced a successful concert series which attracted attendees from 36 cities in eight states across the U...    less

As the introduction states, Eric Whitacre's famous "Sleep" was originally composed to Robert Frost's "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening", but when Whitacre realized the Frost estate was not releasing permission for musical settings of the poem, Charles Silvestri wrote the poem "Sleep" around the music Whitacre had written. To honor the inspiration the poem gave Mr. Whitacre, and to further honor all poets who inspire choral composers, we presented this beloved piece with the original Frost lyrics.  less

This piece was presented in the seco...  moreThe Vocal Art Ensemble, an adult a capella chorus directed by Tracia Barbieri in Davis, California, presents Missa Brevis #8 of Eleanor Daley as part of their "Solstice -- Dance of Light" concerts December 9-11, 2011. This piece was presented in the second half of the program, representing the changing seasons, which paralleled the changing moods and textures in the piece's three mini movements.  

VRC Ensemble, is a non-auditioned rock/pop choir, accompanied by a live, professional band, performing at various venues in Toronto. We sing in 3 or 4 part harmony and have a great time!

The choristers met each other during their nine-year education in fine arts as members of the St. Thomas Boys Choir Leipzig. Today the Ensemble consists of tenors Christian Pohlers and Paul Heller as well as basses Felix Hübner, Lucas Heller and Lukas Lomtscher. Their repertoire ranges from late medieval mass songs to modern age works. The five young musicians attach great importance to the works of German Romantic composers, such as Schubert, Schumann and Mendelssohn Bartholdy, as well as to their extensive repertoire of church music. The Ensemble successfully collaborates with a number of other artists, such as the composer Manfred Schlenker(GER), who dedicated his motet Gott wohnt in einem Lichte to the quintet, on a regular basis. Volker Bräutigam wrote several pieces for them to perform during the festivities at the 35th Leipziger Jazztage.
