A Ladies' a capella four part harmony group we have our roots in barbershop but sing all sorts of music from old standards and barbershop classics to mega pop hits by groups like Abba and Queen. We perform sing outs for local groups in our area of Hampton in South West London, and take part in local fairs and festivals. Our weekly rehearsals on Wednesdays are a fun evening of singing, chatting and having fun together. We are always open to having new members. Experience is not required, nor is the ability to read music as we have 'teach tracks' with the songs in your part on (tenor, lead, baritone or bass) and access to these are given alongside sheet music.
From time to time we run singing courses or open evenings for which there are no auditions. On a course we usually all learn a new song together and sometimes are able not only to benefit from the direction of our musical director but also guest expert coaches from our parent organisation, the La... less

The Chanterelles is a Ladies choir from all over the UK. Originating from a Leicestershire youth choir and reforming as an adult choir in February 2009, members now come together to perform about five times each year.
Having tasted success as a Youth Choir in Llangollen in 1998, the choir returned in their new guise as a Female Choir In July 2010, winning their section and taking their place in the Choir of the World competition.
This success was followed by concerts in Macclesfield and Birmingham and a win at the North Wales Choral Festival in November 2011.
In 2012, the choir competed in the Fleischmann International Trophy Competition at the Cork Choral Festival and won 2nd prize in this year's International Eisteddfod in Llangollen.

An Authentic Purcell Celebration by Kingston Choral Society
Kingston Choral Society’s summer concert on 22 June, at St Andrew’s Church Surbiton, will celebrate the stunning music of Henry Purcell, considered to be the greatest English composer of the Baroque era. Also, a virtuoso performer, who was appointed as organist of Westminster Abbey at the young age of 20, Purcell enjoyed rock-star status during his lifetime, and was dubbed the “Orpheus Britannicus”.
The first half of the performance features highlights of Purcell’s wonderful church music, including perhaps his Finest anthem, My heart is inditing, composed for the coronation of King James II. Then the choir is joined by superb soloists to revel in his ground-breaking short opera Dido and Aeneas, describing the tragic love story of the Queen of Carthage and the founder of Rome, with its hauntingly lovely final aria, Dido’s Lament.
The outstanding quartet of soloists are all recent graduates of the prestigious National ... less
