Members of the choir are auditioned, multi-generational, and range in age from 17 to senior citizens. Performance music includes a wide variety of musical styles. Performances take place in local churches, theaters, etc. The Chorale programs two rehearsal and concert seasons each year. Artistic Director & Conductor Jan Lanterman and Associate Conductor Jason Nett conduct rehearsals and performances.

We aim to give two or three concerts each year, plus a Christmas concert of music and readings. We are based in the village of Rolleston-on-Dove near Burton-upon-Trent, and draw our members – numbering around 50 at present - from a wide area of East Staffordshire and South Derbyshire. The heart of Dozan wa Awtar Music Establishment is singing and community building. Major activities revolve around three groups: Dozan wa Awtar Singers, Dozan and Atfal Dozan. Dozan wa Awtar Singers is an innovative large community choir ranging from 40-60 singers that performs three main concerts a year. Their repertoire includes a wide variety of genres including classical, musical theater, Arabic and world music .
