We aim to be a "A Choir of Note" in New Zealand. As Dunedin’s leading exponent of large-scale choral works, the choir strives for the highest standards in performing the classics of the repertoire, such as Bach’s St Matthew Passion, and Christmas Oratorio, Handel’s Messiah, the Beethoven Ninth and Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius. In addition, the choir has performed major new compositions by New Zealand composers, such as Missa Pacifica by David Hamilton in 2006, and John Drummond’s The Journey Home in 2012. For its 125th anniversary the choir commissioned a new work from Malcolm (Jack) Speirs: Cantico del Sole, and for its 150th anniversary celebrations the choir commissioned a new work from Christopher Marshall: For What Can Be More Beautiful?. The mission is to have an inclusive, friendly, fun-loving choir where young people may develop self-esteem, self-discipline, self-motivation, tolerance, and respect for others while learning the skills of choral singing and experiencing the artistry and joy of musical performance.

No extreme ranges. One page. Suitable for both church and concert hall. I wrote this with the aim of presenting the prayer with as much clarity as possible. To that end, I've set the text phrase by phrase rather than as deconstructed fragments. The score may be downloaded and used for church or concert performances free of charge. According to his wife, Constanze Mozart, the ailing composer had come to believe he was writing the piece, initially commissioned by a German count, to be played at his own funeral — and indeed some sections were. Requiem was later performed at the funerals and commemorative services of Ludwig van Beethoven, Joseph Haydn, and Frédéric Chopin. Centuries later in 1960, “scraps of paper” containing Mozart’s unrealized ideas were discovered, prompting new versions of the Requiem. Es el primer coro latinoamericano en adjudicarse el Gran Premio Europeo (Francia - 2009), máxima competencia coral a nivel mundial.
