Composer Gwyneth Walker writes: "This is a poem of grandeur and of praise. Therefore it might be expected that this musical setting would aim at vastness, grandeur and awakening." Walker accomplishes this through a variety of means. First, The piano introduction includes slowly unfolding piano arpeggios which focus on open intervals of octaves, fifths and fourths, exploiting The full range of The piano keyboard. The composer also takes The singers on a harmonic journey which begins in a low register in C minor, and Then travels through a number of oTher key areas until it reaches The distant key of G-flat. At this point, The voices are drawn closely togeTher into a tone cluster containing The pitches G-flat, A-flat and B-flat, only to open apart into The glorious C major chords which conclude The ... less

On Saturday 8th March 2014 The Taunton Deane Male Voice Choir joined us for a Concert in Weston-super-Mare. Proceeds from The event were in aid of The Weston Hospicecare charity which celebrates its 25th birthday this year.

Fondato nel 1994 dal suo attuale direttore Giovanni Mirabile, il coro polifonico “Ouverture”, raggruppa giovani della provincia di Messina accomunati dall’amore verso la polifonia.
Invitato in Concerti e rassegne in tutta la Sicilia, annovera tra le re... moreFondato nel 1994 dal suo attuale direttore Giovanni Mirabile, il coro polifonico “Ouverture”, raggruppa giovani della provincia di Messina accomunati dall’amore verso la polifonia.
Invitato in Concerti e rassegne in tutta la Sicilia, annovera tra le realizzazioni più notevoli: due spettacoli con Giorgio Albertazzi, l’esecuzione dei Carmina Burana presso l’Università di Messina e di “The Armed Man” di K.Jenkins con l’Orchestra di Lecco, l’allestimento di musical, Concerti in diverse città d’Italia tra cui Assisi, Mantova, Roma, Massa, Lecco.
Particolare attenzione, negli ultimi anni, è stata data alla produzione di spettacoli originali, come DoppiArmonia:percorsi polifonici per doppio coro (Duomo di Monreale). Di rilievo anche la partecipazione a diverse edizioni di “Fede, Arte e Musica” presso il Duomo di Messina in collaborazione con Mons. Letterio Gulletta, e a “Notti Disiata”, Concerto di Natale, promosso dall’Ass. Culturale Kiklos per il Museo dei Peloritani.
