The choir performs frequently at festivals, subscription concerts and other events throughout the country. The Naama Women's Choir is also often invited to appear at festivals and competitions abroad, and has been placed highly at these international competitions. • In 1996, awarded a Golden Diploma in the Felix Mendelssohn International Competition in Dautphetal, Germany. Placed first and awarded another Golden Diploma in the Shirat Hayamin International Choir Competition in Netanya, Israel. • In 2000, placed third in the Arrezo Choir Competition in Tuscany, Italy. • In 2002, placed second in an international choir competition in Beijing, China. • In 2004, placed first in an international choir competition in Wu-Xi, China. • In 2005, placed second in an international choir competition at the Hajnowka 2005 Festival for Christian-Orthodox Music in Bialystok, Poland. Life got in the way. We are now actively trying again to recruit new members. The Renaissance Revelers madrigal ensemble performs medieval and renaissance music in the greater Washington DC metro area. The ensemble has performed at the Maryland Renaissance Festival annually since 1987. Are you a choral singer? Do you like to sing old and interesting music in different languages? Do you like to dress in costume and attend renaissance festivals? We have the perfect opportunity for you! The Renaissance Revelers are looking for Singers. All parts are needed, but we are in particular need of tenors and basses. Ability to sight read is not required but is desirable. We perform annually at the Maryland Renaissance Festival with a few gigs also thrown in over the holidays. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings in Rockville, MD. Interested? Many of the members are active and former students of the University of Music, Drama and Medi...  moreThe Junges Vokalensemble Hannover was founded in 1981 by its artistic director Prof. Klaus-Jürgen Etzold. The choir consists of about 60 female and male Singers. Many of the members are active and former students of the University of Music, Drama and Media Hannover, but other professions are represented as well, and all Singers are united in their wide choral experience and their joy in singing challenging works together. The performance of a wide range of a cappella works, some of them quite unknown, forms an important emphasis of the choir. In addition to sacred and secular a cappella music of the 15th century until today, the choir performs cantatas, masses, oratorios, and passions. Many compositions were broadcast for radio stations or published on CD. The choir has recorded ten CDs and performed several world premieres of contemporary compositions, e.g. by Büsing, Dinescu, Fuchs and Wangenheim.
