Elle a été créée en 2011 par pas moins de 300 trombonistes des classes d'Ile de France. Elle est écrite pour 4 Ensembles de trombones à 4 voix chacun des Cycles 1, 2, 3 en tenant compte expressément des difficultés auxquelles chaque niveau peut prétendre se frotter ainsi qu’un quatuor d’un niveau supérieur voire professionnel tenu en l’occurrence par les quatre musiciens enseignants membres de Panam ‘Trombone . The group's first piece—William Byrd’s “This sweet and merry month of May”, whose ending celebrated Queen Elizabeth I with the words And greet Eliza with a rhyme: O beauteous Queen of Second Troy, Take well in worth a simple toy. provided a great name for the group. Eliza’s Toyes was born, and existed every summer in Madison, Wisconsin. In 2008, a fair number of Singers who were in Eliza's Toyes are living in Madison once again. Thus we gather, outside of the Festival, for the joy of music making. It is our pleasure to continue sharing this wonderful body of music with you for the second year!  less

We perform a wide range of repertoire, from Renaissance to contemporary works. All of our Singers have been hand-picked and sing with some of the top amateur and professional choirs in the country, including: I Fagiolini, Genesis Sixteen, The Carice Singers, Renaissance, The National Youth Choir of Great Britain and many more. We are looking forward to bringing many exciting programmes of choral music to audiences in York, the rest of the United Kingdom and further afield.  less
