Acappellago was founded in 2002 by a number of community members seeking a musical challenge. We present a wide variety of music ranging from classical, contemporary, jazz, pop, gospel, spirituals & have given a number of world, US & Chicago premieres.

Dr. Barlow Bradford conducts the University of Utah Choirs in his own rendition of Sussex Carol at the Libby Gardner Concert hall for the 2012 Christmas Showcase.

The choir is conducted by the Director of Chapel Music, assisted by two organ scholars. The choir makes occasional visits to other British churches and cathedrals, as well as an annual foreign tour, recent destinations have included USA, Mexico, Sweden, Thailand, Rome and Prague. Emmanuel College Choir has released a number of recordings, most recently a CD of works by the Edwardian composer E W Naylor, a former Organist and Honorary Fellow of the College. Not even the dike, now, all its length Can retain the shimmer on the tide Nor bid that lonely freight not To set out at this twilight hour. 溫柔的黃昏啊唯美的黃昏 當所有的眼睛都向西凝神 看落日在海葬之前 用滿天壯麗的霞光 像男高音為歌劇收場 對我們這世界說再見 即使防波堤伸得再長 也挽留不了滿海的餘光 更無法叫住姑獨的貨船 莫在這蒼茫的時候出港 林京美繼2013年發表《望海》之後，今年再度以高雄港的景色作為靈感，延伸創作了《蒼茫時刻》；相對於《望海》的張力堆砌，《蒼茫時刻》一曲較著重於描寫孤獨惆悵的情感。 《蒼茫時刻》原詩為余光中教授於1998年所寫，描述高雄港壯麗而淒美的落日，縱有千萬不捨，卻終須一別。樂曲中鋼琴如波浪般的音型，宛若海洋充滿著情感的內心獨白；合唱男聲的高音域，呈現出透明澄澈的水波光影；全曲最後以溫暖的旋律收尾，表述了夕陽無限好，卻稍縱即逝的惆悵傷感。 《蒼茫時刻》由高雄室內合唱團委託創作，於2014年9月20日由朱如鳳老師指揮高雄室內合唱團，於高雄市大東文藝中心演藝廳首演。 (林京美) (2014 © Kaohsiung Chamber Choir. He invented the early British form of minimalism known as systems music, with his early "Machines". Humming And Ah-ing Machine is an innovative and fun composition by John White for unaccompanied SATB chorus. The work is made up of short repeated phrases that evolve and entwine, creating a hypnotic and exciting overall work. We performed this piece at a concert in St Michael's Cornhill, London, in 1983.  less

The original church, built in the 1880s, had a strong choir ...  moreOur small but talented choir consists mainly of young people. All choir members receive a first-rate musical education. There has been a long tradition of musical excellence at St Laurence’s. The original church, built in the 1880s, had a strong choir of men and boys who took part in the Festival of Britain services in 1951. When the new church was opened in 1968, the musical tradition continued. A new Walker organ was installed in the church, using some pipework from the old organ and Directors of Music have included David Sanger, Professor Roger Wibberley, Paul Dewhurst, Tom Fowkes, Marcus Wibberley, Iain Simcock and Andrew Ibbotson. The current Director of Music is Huw Morgan. Girls were first admitted to the choir some ten years ago, but the choir remains unique in this part of south-east London in that it continues to use only trebles (girls and boys) on the top line.
