In a short time came to count 42 active members who are characterized by their love for quality choral Music as well as their desire for further knowledge in the choral art! Within the first year of its operation, InDONNAtion accoplished first Panhellenic executions and suggested a different and original approach to choral Music, as its repertoire includes beyond the classics and unique compositions that combine movement with sound. Finally, it is worth mentioning that the Choir's name is a pun of the Musical term Intonation (tonality of the sound) and the latin word Donna (woman).  less

With members graduated from Hong Kong traditional schools like Diocesan Boys’ School, Belilios Public School, St. Paul’s Coeducation College, Ying Wa Girls’ School, St. Stephen’s Girls’ College, St. Paul’s College, Wah Yan College Kowloon, and also universities like the Hong Kong University and the Chinese University, the group was immediately invited by the HKSAR government to a celebration performance in early July 2010. The group also presented a standard professional program of sacred Music in its first concert “Inspiratio” in August 2010, and a themed concert, featuring a range of masterpieces of Chinese Choral Music,「聲．華」in August 2011, which won critical acclaim from local Music conductors, composers and Musicians. MY RED BOOTS is based on one of only several poems written by my mother, Jewish Holocaust survivor Rita Hoffman of blessed memory (1927–2018). Both she and my late father, Josef Hoffman, were Jewish Holocaust Survivors. My mother’s brief memoirs are housed at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. I have been trying to hear Music for MY RED BOOTS for decades. It is fitting that my muse cooperated with me when I was seeking a text to set to Music for the Rocky Mountain Chamber Choir’s 2024 call for scores, because global anti-Semitism has not been this rampant since the 1930s. During the events of October 7, 2023 in Israel, "Babies were taken from their mother's arms" just as in my mother's poem.
