The wide-ranging repertoire enables flexible programming for venues – large and small concert halls, churches or synagogues – and appropriate occasions. The ensemble, which consists of singers of non-Jewish origin, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012.
Artistic director since 2012: Ludwig Böhme.

Full fathom five thy father lies;
of his bones are coral made;
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade,
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange.
Sea-nymphs hourly ring his knell:
Ding-dong.
Hark! now I hear them — Ding-dong, bell. less
