Concierto celebrado el 29 de Julio de 2012 en La Couvertoirade, precioso pueblo templario del sur de Francia. 4º Festival internacional de corales, Aveyron. FROM A DISTANCE From a distance the world looks blue and green, and the snowcapped mountains white. From a distance the ocean meets the scream and the eagle takes to flight. From a distance there is harmony, and it echoes trough the land. It's the voice of hope, it's the voice of peace, It's the voice of ev'ry man. God is watching us, God is watching us, God is watching us. From a distance we all have no enough, and no one is in need. There are no guns, no bombs, no diseases, no hungry mouths to feed. From a distance we are intruments, marching in a common band. Playing songs of hope, playing songs of peace, They're the songs of ev'ry man. It's the hope of hopes, it's the love of loves, It's the heart of ev'ry man. God is watching us, God is watching us, God ...    less

The Choir, which began at Brigham Young University as an early Music ensemble, transformed into one of the premier non-collegiate chamber groups in the Western United States. This award-winning ensemble achieves high performance standards by drawing on the rich Musical heritage of the region. Many Cantorum singers have solo careers and all have sung with top collegiate ensembles. A number have also sung as members of The Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Utah Chamber Artists, and Salt Lake Vocal Artists. In addition, Cantorum is proud to have a high representation of talented choral educators. The group won both of its categories at the 2016 Interkultur competition and received special commendation for their performance of Dale Warland and Hugo Distler. Cantorum is under the direction of Steven Durtschi, a graduate of Brigham Young University and Utah State University. The group’s mission is to create ...    less

The Choir sings in the Ukrainian and old-church slavonic languages. The Choir has close links with the Greek-catholics (in Ukraine). For decades, the Choir strived to keep Ukrainian (liturgical and worldly) culture alive. It did so whilst the Greek-catholic Church fought to survive its suppressors. It continues to do so, joining in the happiness of the Greek-catholics' freedom today. The Choir was founded by Ukrainian born and raised Musicologist Myroslaw Antonowycz (+2006). At present, the Utrecht Byzantine Choir is directed by Grigori Sergei Sarolea. Grigori was born and raised in a Slavic-byzantine church community in The Hague. You are listening to the 'Veruju' (Credo) by M. Antonowycz. It is taken from the album: 'Goddelijke Liturgie' (Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom) . The UBK frequently sings during the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom bot...    less
