We specialise in songs and chants from around the world, conveying each song’s intention and wairua - whether that is a quiet longing for your homeland, celebrating the joy of independence won, the despair of loved ones lost or the delicate beauty of a song of peace. We perform regularly at festivals, resthomes, public and corporate events spreading joy and inspiration through our communities. We are an auditioned Chamber Choir of 30-40 members who love sharing the joy of choral singing with each other and our community. Our regular season consists of at least 4 concerts featuring a variety of musical genres and styles. Because we seek to create meaningful musical experiences, we value interaction and education in our performances. Our audience members often tell us how much they love learning about the music from our director’s comments, which help them more fully enter into the music and enjoy it.  less

We are passionate about polyphony! We love to sing music from regions around the world which have a strong tradition of singing in harmony. Music from Eastern Europe, Georgia, Africa and Jamaica etc finds its way into our repertoire. We also love to sing some beautiful classical works and Mozart, Bortniansky and Bach is much loved by the Singers. Most of our music is unaccompanied, except when our very talented instrumentalists (guitar, harp, cello, ukes, bodhran...) bring their instruments.  less
