“Misericordes sicut Pater,” is the official Latin theme of the Year of Mercy and translates To “Merciful Like the FatHer"; by the English Composer Paul Inwood and the text of the Hymn in Latin and Italian was written by Jesuit FatHer Eugenio Costa.

The title is drawn from John 6:36, Misericordes sicut Pater (English: Be Merciful, As Your FatHer Is). Inwood's composition was the winner in an international competition sponsored by the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization. The Hymn has now been released in Italian, French, and English, with a Latin antiphon and refrains.

The WORLD Youth Choir, project of the Foundation "WORLD Youth Choir" Den Hague, NetHerlands, on kind invitation of the Jeunesses Musicales Norway, University of Oslo and the Nobel Institute/Committee participated at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert held in Oslo on December 11th 2011 -- the annual musical tribute To the year's Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
