The choir forms p...  moreAbout the Choir The University of Pretoria Youth Choir is a multi-cultural choir consisting of 90 members aged between 14 and 19 years and representing 33 Secondary Schools in the greater Tshwane area. They are all amateur Singers. The choir forms part of the multi-choir model of the University of Pretoria, the others being the UP Jacaranda Children’s Choir, UP Camerata.

Director, Pierre Massie, has composed many original pieces for the ch...  moreThe Stairwell Carollers are a charitable a cappella Ottawa choir, who sing sacred and secular renaissance music, as well as settings of traditional and contemporary Christmas carols. Director, Pierre Massie, has composed many original pieces for the choir, as well as creating lively and contemporary arrangements of traditional carols. The release of their first CD Qui creavit celum, celebrated the Stairwell Carollers' 20th anniversary in 1997. In 2000 they released I Saw a Swete Semly Syght and in 2003 Mourning Dove. Their very first madrigal CD, Audite nova, was released in October of 2006 and their fourth Xmas CD Laudemus cum armonia in 2009. 2012 marked the release of their first CD of sacred songs from the Renaissance, Cantate Domino, Their fifth Xmas CD O magnum mysterium is now available for purchase. Winner of the 2010 OMFA provincial competition, they are ranked amongst the best of Canada's choirs. Currently in residence at the Church of St. Ignatius of Antioch on Manhattan's Upper West Side, the Chorus performs an eclectic range of music, from a cappella compositions to works for chorus and orchestra, from countries around the world. Our diverse repertoire spans the 14th to the 21st centuries, including recent performances of the Brahms Requiem, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Bach's Magnificat and Christmas Oratorio, as well as new commissions by Kristin Kuster, Elliot Levine, and Jonathan David.
