Most importantly, they are students who are DEDICATED to being the best they can be. As a result of these high standards, Sounds of Summit has developed a reputation in Lee’s Summit and around the nation as one of the elite high school level performing ensembles. We are frequently asked to perform with UMKC’s Conservatory, as well as multiple appearances at the Missouri Music Educators Convention. We are also in high demand with community groups for performances around Christmas time. Most recently we were given the distinction being selected to perform at the Piccolo Spoleto Festiv...    less

Karl Jenkins' popular vocal-instrumental work Adiemus belongs to a sort of symphonic Music with a touch of ethnic Music. To define Adiemus is the best way to denote it as a "new age" or "progressive" Music. Adiemus is formed of a many different kinds of melodies, distinctive harmonies and minimalistic repetitions of Musical themes, that Jenkins shaped into an expanded choral work.
