The members of the Ensemble are all amateurs and have the same ideal that their performance can touch the heart of every audience through their well-trained voices. Their repertoires include folk songs, classical songs, musical pieces, pops, and premiere works by renowned composers. In March 2011, Plaisir Ensembe achieved a great success in the “1st Vietnam International Choir Festival and Competition” organized by the INTERKULTUR. They won the Gold Diploma, the Category Winner as well as the Overall Winner of Chamber Choirs. The Ensemble is one of the Top 50 Female Choirs in the Musica Mundi World Ranking List.  less

All participants are vocally trained, some of which at music academies. The Ensemble prepares concerts twice a year, singing highly diverse repertoire, ranging from renaissance compositions to contemporary music and everything in between. TIEN cooperates with several conductors, each specialized in the repertoire and theme chosen for a programme, e.g. Fokko Oldenhuis, JanJoost van Elburg, Felix van den Hombergh, Sanne Nieuwenhuijsen and Nicky Bouwers.  less

Life got in the way. We are now actively trying again to recruit new members. The Renaissance Revelers madrigal Ensemble performs medieval and renaissance music in the greater Washington DC metro area. The Ensemble has performed at the Maryland Renaissance Festival annually since 1987. Are you a choral singer? Do you like to sing old and interesting music in different languages? Do you like to dress in costume and attend renaissance festivals? We have the perfect opportunity for you! The Renaissance Revelers are looking for singers. All parts are needed, but we are in particular need of tenors and basses. Ability to sight read is not required but is desirable. We perform annually at the Maryland Renaissance Festival with a few gigs also thrown in over the holidays. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings in Rockville, MD. Interested?
