Performing a repertoire ranging from Renaissance polyphony to unique jazz and pop arrangements, the group has been praised for stunning performance, exquisite singing and creating a sound that spans the entire range of vocal colour. Founded in 2003 by ex-choristers of Westminster Abbey, VOCES8 first achieved success in 2005, winning first prize at the International Choral Grand Prix in Gorizia, Italy. Subsequently the group has performed widely in the UK, Europe, the USA, Africa and Asia. VOCES8’s career has developed both in the classical choral scene and the world of a cappella. In 2009, the group’s first commercial album, EVENSONG, was nominated for a CARA. To date they have given over 1500 local youngsters vocal coaching and experience of professional-standard live performance. WYV is run by a team of experienced volunteers who give their time freely to be able to pass this experience on - the team consists of two primary school teachers, two doctors and a critical care nurse! Warwickshire Young Voices provide high quality musical activities for children from age 2 to age 16 through a range of classes, choirs and workshops. In all activities, Warwickshire Young Voices prides itself on professionalism - with performances reaching the highest standards. Their Musical Director, and resident composer, often writes music specifically for the children. Warwickshire Young Voices are a busy group.
