Its first conductors were the Finnish-American Dr. of Musicology, Mrs. Ruth-Esther Hillila and Finnish Pastor Mr. Tarmo Nuotio. The three following conductors came from Vienna (Austria) Mr. Peter Lacovich, Zwickau Prof. Mr. Heinz Hofmann and Dresden (Germany) prof. Mr. Christian Hauschild, the original footholds of European protestant 'Knabenchor' -tradition.
Cantores Minores is the largest and most professional boys choir and choir school in Finland offering boys and young men both musical and spiritual education around the Helsinki region. Cantores Minores is especially famous for its performances of large church music pieces by

Formed by Graham Taylor in 1983 as The New Glasgow Singers, a small group of passionate choral singers looking to take on some of the less well-known works in the choral repertoire, it has grown into an organisation that has around 100 members singing a wide range of musical genres but still with the core wish to seek out and perform the less familiar pieces.
We perform a regular series of concerts each year: the details for the current season can be seen here. The range of music includes serious classical works, programmes of choral classics, West End musical pieces and the lighter popular music included in our annual Christmas Cracker concert. Our full repertoire can be seen in our list of past concerts. Some notable highlights have been Walton’s Belshazzar’s Feast, Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis, Berlioz’s Grande Messe des Morts and Mahler’s Eighth Symphony - the Symphony of a Thousand. less
