Founded by a group of choral music lovers in 2002, KCC has leaded the choral music community to an unceasingly advancement in southern Taiwan. KCC performs a vast selection of local and international repertoires, female or male choral work, a cappella pieces, contemporary Chamber Choir music, and newly commissioned compositions in its semi annual concerts and other occasions. KCC’s active presence on stages has brought several acclaimed rewards from private and public offices. Under the leadership of the current Artistic Director, Dr. Chia-fen Weng, KCC launched the Elite Workshop to further expand the Choir’s caliber in 2007. This program recruited a few young talented singers to act as voice teachers in the Choir, such as Hua-chen Liang, Je-jium Chan and Ying-jen Yao, and offers music theory, body movement and dancing lessons to its members as part of this Elite Workshop program. Founded in November 2015, the Choir aims to feature the best of Filipino Choral Artistry while providing opportunities for its members to develop their talents. The Group performs a wide range of repertoire that spans from Classical, Contemporary and Sacred scores to Folk, Secular and Popular music. In July 29 - August 01 2025, DCS marked a milestone as it embarked on its fifth international tour to the Taipei International Choir Competition held at Soochow University in Taipei, Taiwan. This tour was the first under the leadership of the current president and served as a heartfelt tribute to DCS’s inaugural international tour—timed perfectly with the group’s 10th anniversary. Under the tutelage of the current Philippine Madrigal Singers member, Jet Torres, the group has won in local choral competitions and has been participating in various choral festivals. Each year, the group also holds fund-raising concert activities to support its annual outreach programs.
