To help celebrate this important milestone, Nashville Singers hosted a special "meet & greet" event honoring the Suntones in Nashville on May 12, 2011. The concert closed with a performance by The Suntones and the Nashville Singers singing Gene Cokeroft's stirring arrangement of Danny Boy, with solos by Gene and son Bruce. Roughly a year after conception the group has successfully represented the Philippines at the 1st Vietnam International Choir Festival and Competition, Hoi An 2011. Under the Leadership of Founder and Choirmaster Ron Oñate, they brought home 2 silver diplomas for the Folk and Sacred Music Categories from the said competition, establishing their mark on the international choir scene. Chamz, as they are popularly known, has continually rendered their voices for various Television shows, Music Festivals, Product endorsements, corporate events, charity concerts and outreach activities. Director, Pierre Massie, has composed many original pieces for the choir, as well as creating lively and contemporary arrangements of traditional carols. The release of their first CD Qui creavit celum, celebrated the Stairwell Carollers' 20th anniversary in 1997. In 2000 they released I Saw a Swete Semly Syght and in 2003 Mourning Dove. Their very first Madrigal CD, Audite nova, was released in October of 2006 and their fourth Xmas CD Laudemus cum armonia in 2009. 2012 marked the release of their first CD of sacred songs from the Renaissance, Cantate Domino, Their fifth Xmas CD O magnum mysterium is now available for purchase. Winner of the 2010 OMFA provincial competition, they are ranked amongst the best of Canada's choirs.
