We sing a-cappella style Music in four-part harmony, called Barbershop. The songs we sing are varied, some old classics, some modern with a twist! In an effort to stay committed to singing and performing at the highest possible level, we compete each year in a national contest and we also perform our own annual Show to raise our profile in the community. We can be seen and heard throughout the year, performing for major corporations, civic and charitable organizations, private groups, churches, community events, and fundraisers. Phoenix have performed around the world, in the USA, Canada, Holland and Ireland as well as all over Britain in world renowned venues such as the Birmingham Symphony Hall, Royal Albert Hall and The Sage in Gateshead.

The Choir performs ordinarily Music during Catholic Mass and other forms of Choir services in churches and events.  Our repertoire consists mainly of folk, gospel, pop and freedom songs all sung in glorious 4 part harmony and mostly in a capella style. All Choir members have online access to MP3 recordings of their parts so they can practise anytime.

We love welcoming new people so it would be great to have you along. There is no audition and everyone is welcome to come and check us out for a night before they join.  less

Trying to fit LCGC into a neat slot is virtually impossible. LCGC is known for their up-tempo gospel flair, swing-beat, R’n'B, traditional and soulful arrangements, with their invigorating choreography and vocal gymnastics – LCGC is outstanding to watch! It’s 40+ members perform just about anywhere, private corporate functions, after-show parties, conferences, schools, cabaret functions, clubs, weddings, christenings, funerals, prisons, churches, open-air festivals, theatres and concert halls. LCGC have sung on the soundtrack for Walt Disney’s “The Lion King”, performed for Nelson Mandela during his famous visit to London, officiated at many celebrity weddings and supported Madonna on stage during Live 8. They represent the best of British and have been sponsored by the British Council at international festivals in Europe, Africa and Israel.
