We are a newly formed ensemble of women's voices from Canterbury in Kent. Our repertoire ranges from classical motet to jazz and female barbershop. We perform on a regular basis across Kent and have on going partnership links with choirs in the UK and France.

This four part chorus (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) is devoted to music of all styles, including Classical, Broadway and Contemporary tunes. These dynamic and talented Singers range in age from 14-25, and include young women in gr.11 and higher, and young men with changed voices. The SYC annually participates in the Family Christmas Concert, and choreographed year end show. They also stage an Orchestra concert each spring, which has presented pieces such as Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Requiems by Mozart, Faure, Rutter, and Daley, to name a few. This year, the SYC looks forward to singing Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. The Youth Chorus joined the senior and Chamber choirs in their 2009 tour to the UK. They were ecstatic to receive 8th place standing in the Mixed Voices category at a festival that boasts participants from over 50 different countries. Our performances intentionally address themes highlighting diverse solo and choral voices, new and underrepresented composers, visual and other performing arts, and community partners. Resonance seeks to reflect on the most pressing social issues of our times through performing new music and sharing many perspectives. As Oregon Arts Watch wrote in June 2019, “they do social justice music justice: their concerts are part social commentary, part group therapy, and part best damn choir show in town.” Our concerts are designed to reflect the times, and audience members often tell us that they see their experiences reflected in our thought-provoking performances.  less

On its first attempt at ...  moreFormally organized in August 2006, the Ars Cantica Ensemble is a choral group composed of young professionals from different university choirs who want to spread the Word of God through musical talent and commitment to service. On its first attempt at competitions in 2007, the group won Second Runner-Up in the prestigious PAGCOR Chorale Festival and was chosen as one of the top five winners in the Paskong Himig sa Lungsod ng PASIG Chorale Competition. In December 2007, the Ars Cantica Ensemble was featured at the Opening Ceremonies of the Amazing European Union Christmas held at The Podium, Ortigas and was one of the choirs invited to grace the Sing For Me Project of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. In February 2010, Ars Cantica Ensemble emerged as one of the winners in Sa ‘Yo Lamang Chorale Fest, a choral competition sponsored by ABS-CBN and Star Records.
