The choir presents liturgical music either written in, or translated to, the Hebrew language. In the few years of the choir's existence Liturgi-Kal is rapidly becoming much more visible on the Israeli music scene due to its emphasis on excellence coupled with the superb choice of musical partners. The choir has worked with the Israeli Chamber orchestra, the Ensemble Barrocade and has had the honor of hosting some of Israel’s finest young Singers as well as special guests from abroad.  less

A perennial competitor on the international stage, The Alliance Chorus has qualified for the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) International Competition every year since its’ formation in 1999. Ever “In Tune With Excellence”, The Alliance competed this past Summer in Las Vegas finishing 15th in the world, and in previous years has finished as high as 4th place! In addition to the competition circuit, The Alliance Chorus also has had many opportunities to give back and perform for the community. We are dedicated to quality performances, music education, and community service. As the resident choral Ensemble of the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, we perform a varied repertoire from classics to Broadway and rock to jazz in two main concerts, one during the Christmas season and one in the spring, with additional benefit and collaborative performances throughout the year. Scheduled auditions for new members are held in August and January of each year. We are passionate about polyphony! We love to sing music from regions around the world which have a strong tradition of singing in harmony. Music from Eastern Europe, Georgia, Africa and Jamaica etc finds its way into our repertoire. We also love to sing some beautiful classical works and Mozart, Bortniansky and Bach is much loved by the Singers. Most of our music is unaccompanied, except when our very talented instrumentalists (guitar, harp, cello, ukes, bodhran...) bring their instruments.  less
