Its members are citizens of the two communities, Turkish-Cypriots and Greek-Cypriots, who share the same vision of a re-unified and peaceful common country and also believe in the unity of the two communities through Music.
Our repertoire consists mainly of selected songs from the tradition of Cyprus in both Greek-Cypriot and Turkish – Cypriot dialects as well as newer songs in Greek, Turkish and any other language as long as they send messages of peace, love, solidarity and reconciliation, messages that conform with our aims and visions.
The Choir works under the instructions of two conductors, a Turkish-Cypriot and a Greek-Cypriot and it also co-operates and performs with cultural groups of the smaller communities of Maronites and Armenians.
The Bi-communal Choir started rehearsing at the LEDRA PALACE Hotel, and its first official performance took p... less

KCC performs a vast selection of local and international repertoires, female or male choral work, a cappella pieces, contemporary chamber Choir music, and newly commissioned compositions in its semi annual concerts and other occasions. The collective was organized in 1939 in Belostok, its first program was prepared in 1941. Now the staff of the Choir consists of gifted musicians who serve selflessly to the Great Art.
The artistic side of the Choir is distinguished by the high musical culture, vivid emotionality, richness of the dynamical scale of sounding, high feeling of ensemble, purity of intonation, expression and naturality of singing and its organicity with the word.
The collective has merited a high praise from the side of both critics and audience. "The gentleness and beauty of the sounding voices, purity of intonation and spirituality in the interpretation of the musical material appear very subtly", V.S.Fomin, the pri... less

With the addition of Richard Larson as artistic director and a handful of additional singers, the group quickly found a footing in the cultural fabric of Denver, Colorado.
Now entering its 15th full season of performing, the group has expanded into an auditioned ensemble of 54 volunteer singers who meet weekly to rehearse. Many of the singers come from schools with strong choral music programs, such as Augustana, Brigham Young, Concordia, Luther, St. Olaf, Wartburg, and the University of Northern Colorado.
Kantorei established itself as one of the nation’s premier choral ensembles after performing as an auditioned Choir for the 2003 National American Choral Directors Association Conference at Carnegie Hall in New York City. In June 2007, Kantorei embarked on its first-ever international tour to France and Italy. The tour culminated with the distinct... less

Membership is open to anyone with or without choral experience. We aim for high standards, and of course strong singers are always valued – but you don’t have to be able to read music, and there are no auditions. The age range of members stem from 20 to over 70 so there is room for everyone. If you’re not sure which voice part you are then Christopher Wray, our Musical Director, can help you with this.
The Choir performs three public concerts each year, at Easter, in the Summer and at Christmas. We also support the local communities by singing at various events and this includes raising funds for charities.
Each year we also sing away from London which combines singing to another community, or combining a performance with their Choir, with a fun day out. At times we take more extensive trips and you can see details on these events in our ‘News Items’ section of the website.
FHCS is also a very social Choir and apart from a... less

We go on stage in self-organized concerts, but perform in smaller occasions, too.
