In 2005 The Ensemble won The audience award as well as The special award of The jury of The Swiss Choir Competition in Glarus, while in 2007 it was awarded The 1st place at The Valiant Forum for Young Orchestras and Choirs at The Murten Classic Summer Festival. In addition, molto cantabile has taken part in several renowned international choir competitions where it has proved to belong to The leaders of The international choir scene. In May 2004 The Ensemble took part in The European Music Festival in Neerpelt, Belgium, where it was awarded 1st prize summa cum laude with 99/100 points. It strives to enrich The lives of its members through programs stressing musical aptitude, teamwork, discipline, self-confidence and personal growth. Music camps, social outings, concert tours and an annual, child-involved fundraiser are combined with weekly rehearsals and live performances to create The type of nurturing environment that enables members to mature musically and socially. The SCCC and its musical directors serve as mentors, coaches and friends to students in a variety of socioeconomic levels.  less

The singers have set Themselves The target to present Their listeners a wide musical spectrum. Their repertoire consists of Vocal music from Renaissance and Baroque to Romanticism to The 20th and 21st century. Important elements are works of Jacobus Gallus, Michael Praetorius, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Francis Poulenc and Rudolf Mauersberger. In addition They also perform with popular music. Music of The “Comedian Harmonists”, “The Beatles”, Billy Joel or The German group “Wise Guys” are also an essential part of Their repertoire. Founded in 1970 by a group of enthusiastic amateur singers, our repertoire ranges from The great classical choral works to modern contemporary pieces. Under The skilled direction of Howard Kane, who was appointed musical director in 2008, and ably assisted by Robert Woods The choir has grown in size and reputation. Rehearsals Monday nights are rehearsal nights which are held in Frodsham Methodist Church, Kingsley Rd, WA6 6BA from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. New members are welcome to come along and give us a try. We rehearse from September through to July for our four main concerts, which are held in Frodsham, and also take our music to oTher venues in The area. Groups of singers from within The choir are available to sing at weddings and The choir regularly puts on events to raise money for local charities.  less
