Since its early days, it has performed compositions from different musical periods spanning from the Renaissance to current times. Nowadays, it mostly interprets pieces by contemporary composers. GVA has done concerts at the main churches, museums and theaters in Buenos Aires, as well as in Mendoza, Mercedes, Tandil and Capilla del Señor. Abroad, GVA has been part of: 2009 - 45 Barcelona International Days of Chorus Singing. Spain. 2011 - Cantus Salisburgenesis. Salzburg, Austria. Choral Festival Saint-Maximin. France. 2013 - Aveyron Choral Festival. France. Concerts in Sant Pere de les Puel•les and Santa Maria del Mar. Barcelona, Spain. 2017 - Barcelona 11th World Symposium on Choral Music. It is intended to provide a foundation in area of vocal technique while achieving a high standard of excellence in repertoire selected from all periods and musical styles. Performing a repertoire ranging from Renaissance polyphony to unique jazz and pop arrangements, the group has been praised for stunning performance, exquisite singing and creating a sound that spans the entire range of vocal colour. Founded in 2003 by ex-choristers of Westminster Abbey, VOCES8 first achieved success in 2005, winning first prize at the International Choral Grand Prix in Gorizia, Italy. Subsequently the group has performed widely in the UK, Europe, the USA, Africa and Asia. VOCES8’s career has developed both in the classical choral scene and the world of a cappella. In 2009, the group’s first commercial album, EVENSONG, was nominated for a CARA. MGC travelled widely in Europe and had a high standard. In 2003, we changed our name to Manx Voices. We love singing to community groups, in church services and concerts. We compete in our local music festivals and have sung on stage with Blake. We are a very democratic, mutually supportive group of Women ranging in age from 10 to 70!
