I was on the 1 train on Manhattan’s West Side one day when I saw the poem “Heaven,” by Patrick Phillips. I was immediately captured by the simple beauty of Patrick’s poem, and the mystery of the first line, “It will be the past.” I loved his vision and thought immediately that I wanted to compose music for this poem. Mystery, joy, wonder. “Heaven” is the winner of choral composition competitions sponsored by both the Manhattan Choral Ensemble and Georgia College. Listen to Eri Yamamoto and Choral Chameleon's Artistic D...  moreIn Fall 2018, New York's Choral Chameleon Chorus collaborated with jazz pianist and composer Eri Yamamoto, to bring to life 'Goshu Ondo Suite', her New, hour-length piece for choir and jazz trio. Listen to Eri Yamamoto and Choral Chameleon's Artistic Director Vince Peterson discussing the project, with footage from the November 2018 premiere at the Paul Taylor Dance Company Studios. The event culminated in a dance party encore with audience and choir dancing together! After a simple lesson in the Obon dance from Shiga prefecture in Japan, the audience danced to a reprise of the final movement by the choir and trio. The live performance recording of Goshu Ondo Suite will be released by Aum Fidelity label. Pre-Order from October 1st 2019, release date November 15th 2019.  less
