Bray Choral Society is a successful choir performing a wide range of choral works including major works by Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Mendelssohn and Rossini, along with short concerts and recitals including Byrd, Bach, Elgar, Stanford an...  moreBray Choral Society is a successful choir performing a wide range of choral works including major works by Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Mendelssohn and Rossini, along with short concerts and recitals including Byrd, Bach, Elgar, Stanford and also works by composers of the 20th and 21st centurys such as Orff, Rutter, Bodley, De Barra, Jenkins, Goodall, Whitacre, Gjeilo and Blackford. We have taken part in many choral competitions around Ireland with Success in New Ross, Arklow, Navan, Sligo and Cork. In 2013 we joined Wide Open Music in a performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony, which was received with great enthusiasm. In the same year we also joined Opera Theatre Company for two performances in their tOur to promote young Irish soloists. In recognition of the millennium year and augmented by local choirs from around the country, we performed the Verdi Requiem to great acclaim in both Bray and Arklow. The group pursues two main aims: on the one hand to revive old, nearly forgotten Carinthian folk songs, and on the other hand to enrich the Carinthian music scene by new songs and interpretations. The Oktet Suha has performed more than 1400 times in Austria and all over Europe, as well as in the USA, Australia, Ukraina, Argentina and Canada. They had lots of tv and radio appearances worldwide. Oktet Suha has released 12 CD ́s since and is the main organizer of the annual cross boarder vocal Festival Suha. Their highlights were the European Award for Folk and Art and the Silver award of the Slovenian Republik.  less
